Web-enablement of Speedware V7 Applications
 Speedware Autobahn II includes a feature that allows Speedware V7 customers to Web-enable their applications without needing to modify their application code.
Whether you decide to homestead on your HP e3000 platform or migrate to an alternate environment, SpeedWeb will enable you to access your current V7 applications from a browser window, and even offers you ways to improve their graphical user interface - breathing new life into your applications.
With SpeedWeb, you'll be able to instantly Web-enable your current applications. All you need to do is upgrade them to the latest version (V7.09), set up a startup file, and you'll be on your way. In addition, Speedware/4GL and Designer have been modified to allow you to further enhance the look of your applications adding buttons, images, and other visual components. |
SpeedWeb offers the possibility to make several improvements to your traditional character-based interfaces. Here are a few examples:

SpeedWeb can seamlessly Web-enable your applications because it knows Speedware applications. Using a Java-based application, an end-user can access any application from any location. SpeedWeb automatically downloads all the components required to run the SpeedWeb applet on your client's PC. No manual deployment necessary.
End users launch SpeedWeb applications from their Web browsers. Java components are automatically deployed if they are not already installed.
SpeedWeb is designed to be used in a variety of network environments. It works through either a proxy or socks server and supports HTTP-tunneling with both a CGI or Servlet gateway and encryption through SSL. Whether your applications will be used privately, within your Intranet, or publicly, through the Internet, SpeedWeb can easily adapt to your specific configuration.
